Learning digital photography might be expensive for hobbyists who wants to learn photography aspects. Though many people are willing to teach you like your friends or a senior member of your photography organization, they would not pass on to you of what we called secrets in crafting. It’s their secret and they exerted tremendous amount of effort if not money in learning that secret. Imagine a professional photographer who is in the business for over 10 years who is a member of a club. I am pretty much sure that he has attended so many workshops or if he is a self-taught photographer, he poured so much of his time in learning the craft. I’m not saying that all of them do not share their secrets but practically speaking, they will either give their secrets only to their family members, close friends and of course if you pay for a session with them. A very good example of this so called session is a photography seminar which includes a day or two conceptual trainings and some exercises to make you better feel or experience it by your self.

Is it enough to get you started?

Photography seminars are good channel for learning in all levels because it ranges from beginners to PRO category and there are lots of seminars available for you in your local places. Just make sure that the topics in that seminar will suite your needs.

One of the disadvantage of this kind of channel of learning is that it has a limited time to catch up all the facts and techniques presented. Not all of us can absorb concepts so fast especially when we are just starting out to more about photography. I am not saying that some of us lack the capability to learn from a seminar. It’s just that we have different levels on how we understand and absorb concepts and sometimes, it is also affected on the way the lecturer delivers the facts or the venue where the seminar is held.

Is self learning a good reinforcement?

One of the best ways to learn more about the facts presented in seminars is to practice it at home. This will give you time to think and explore more about it. Another great way is to buy books or ebooks. There are many best selling ebooks about photography in the internet.

Why Ebooks and books would be great medium for learning?

Simple! It enables you to learn the secret and techniques in photography without worrying about time. You can always go back to any step of the exercise if you missed it out and you control your time. It also enables you to learn from famous photographers who are deemed experts. So, you will be picking up the brain of the lecturer (in this case – the Author). Ebooks are great investments and I must say that it is one of the most effective ways of learning the craft. That’s why it gains the popularity so rapidly that it becomes the best source of income of PRO photographers. Most of the Ebooks are sold with “Money back Guarantee” for at least 60 days. You heard it right; they will give you refunds if you are not satisfied with their products. So, compared to seminars, you are secured and assured that you will get the best for your money.

Is it expensive?

No! I must say, it’s “Affordable”. I hate to compare it but it is more affordable than seminars. You can have the material and all are written which is more advantageous than verbal training.

Final say

I will chose Ebooks and teach myself rather than going out and attend a seminar. That’s just my opinion. I love teaching my self because it saves my time, it’s inexpensive and you can experiment and go back to the steps anytime I want. I just observed that some lecturers sometimes buy Ebooks and offer it to you as a seminar.

What’s the catch?

I recently found a good Ebook for you to start with. It is packed with Core Photography Fundamentals, Introduction to External Flash Photography, How To Make Money with Photography, Tips and tricks that even established photographers have not seen anything like this before and Filters for Lenses and Plug-ins for Photoshop. All of these are just bonus mini ebooks that comes along when you purchase the “Trick Photography and Special Effects E-Book”. I believe that this ebook is just right for its price and I am sure that you will love it. Here is a video of one of the tricks that you will learn if you purchase the ebook now!

Here’s the link if you want to purchase or just read more about the product.

Hey Kira! I didn’t know you hang out here. Mmm? No first time. I gotta say JKAR, I like this a lot. If my time wasn’t so strained I would be doing photography too. Many of my blogger friends do and it seems to be a good way to drive traffic.

I am actually going to the Jozi Book Fair tomorrow, so I’ll be taking lots of pics there, but with a Kodac megapixel. *blush*. Yeah, amateur, but your blog looks cool to hang out at.
